Following a 12-month break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are delighted to report that this year鈥檚 CREST (Cancer Research Excellence in Clinical Trials) has been awarded to the General Surgical research team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Despite the challenges of the Covid pandemic the team have still managed to maintain a large, wide ranging portfolio of studies recruiting a large number of patients to cancer research studies.

The winner of the 2021 Association of Surgeons in Training Silver Scalpel Award was announced at the virtual conference as being Miss Manjit Dhillon a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. The physical award was presented to Miss Dhillon in October by ASiT President Lola Giwa and Anna Rose at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary in front of around 25 of her colleagues, friends and family.
